Utility Bill Management Vendors: Owning the Enterprise Energy Database

Chris Heinz - October 6, 2011

Paul Baier of Groom Energy has posted a thoughtful article about the critical importance of utility bill management for large organizations, especially those with green aspirations. Baier's vital observation is that sustainability software providers in the new field of carbon accounting are facing what he calls a "large data capture problem" that can best be met by a robust historical utility bill database-the core of EnergyCAP's energy management software.

It's great PR for EnergyCAP, which is mentioned twice in the article.

Baier closes with this observation:

"Yes, utility bill management vendors are in a very good position. Most firms have basic data carbon reporting needs and cannot justify the expense of submetering at all of their facilities. Utility bill management solutions offer a cost effective approach to building a company-wide database of energy use and cost."
