When Implementing an EMIS, Experience Makes a Difference

Dan Behringer - December 16, 2020

EnergyCAPResume2Experience. The Difference. This invitation from EnergyCAP to prospective customers can mean a lot of different things. More than 40 years of utility bill accounting & energy management software development experience makes a difference. Consistently seeking input from thousands of EnergyCAP users makes a difference. And applying the resources and focus required to ensure that each EnergyCAP implementation is a success from start to finish makes a difference.

This past week, I had the pleasure of joining a client call where the client awarded their EnergyCAP Project Manager a plaque that stated, “For your leadership and dedication to the success of the EnergyCAP implementation team. We couldn’t have done it without you.”

It is extremely fulfilling to hear feedback like this from clients who “experience the difference.” We work hard to turn our significant experience into a solution that sets us apart from others.

Our experience benefits our clients in many ways. The implementation team at EnergyCAP has worked with organizations of all sizes across a wide range of industries, which gives us a unique ability to understand each customer’s needs. We have implemented custom solutions for many differing types of billing, metering, and accounting systems. Our technical experience allows us to get the data you care about into the systems that depend on it, automating your recurring processes so that you can spend your time on the high-value activities that matter most. And we have significant project management experience and training; close to half of our project managers are certified Project Management Professionals (PMPs), with more achieving that recognition each year.

This broad range of experience enables us to accurately communicate the time and resources needed before the project begins. We know ahead of time what will work and what won’t, so we can confidently implement the right solution for your needs the first time. And we work hard to make sure our clients are setup for ongoing success. We recognize that the EnergyCAP implementation project completion isn’t the end of the journey, but rather it’s the beginning of what we expect to be a long-term energy management and conservation success story.

It’s one of the reasons why we ask for feedback at the end of each project to hear how we’ve done. We want to make sure that our clients are set up for success and to hear how we can improve. Here are just a few examples of recent client feedback about the EnergyCAP implementation experience:

“Your PM's are top notch. I'd be happy to work with those folks again.”

- State government client

“[The implementation team] answered many questions, kept the project on time, troubleshot issues, provided suggestions, accepted feedback, and have made EnergyCAP one of the best vendors with which I've had the privilege of working.”

- Local government client

“Our EnergyCAP project team was EXCELLENT. Their knowledge of utilities and EnergyCAP was impressive.”

- University client
