Energy Analysis – It All Starts with Utility Bill Tracking

Chris Heinz - December 12, 2012

Karen Kroll's 5-part series, "Five Ways To Target Energy Waste," is a quick read with some helpful tips for energy managers looking for a New Year's Resolution that will enhance their workplace efforts.

Kroll leads with an article on the importance of utility bill tracking (and interval data analysis, when data is available). The second installment is on the ENERGY STAR Automated Benchmarking Services (for which EnergyCAP is a partner with our ABS interface). Article three is a practical how-to for submetering. Article four focuses on Building Automation Systems. Article five explores the benefits of data loggers.

The series concludes with a bonus article on the proposed EPAct Deduction Extension, and includes some background and recommendations regarding the 179D business deduction for energy retrofits.
